Flora and the Friendly Dragon
Flora was a brave little girl with a big imagination. Her favorite spot was her cozy living room, where she would build towering castles for her toy dragon, Sparkle. Flora loved to draw too, filling pages with colorful dragons breathing sparkly fire. She wasn't afraid of anything, especially not new adventures!
One sunny morning, Flora's mom announced, "Flora, a new friend named Leo is coming over to play today! He's just moved in down the street, and guess what? He loves dragons and drawing, just like you!"
Flora's heart did a little flutter-flutter. A new friend? That sounded exciting, but also a little bit... shy-making. Even brave Flora felt a tiny bit nervous about meeting someone new. Would Leo like her drawings? Would he like Sparkle?
Soon, there was a gentle knock at the door. Flora peeked from behind the big comfy armchair. She saw a boy, about her age, holding a small, shiny green toy dragon! He also had a drawing pad tucked under his arm. Leo looked up and saw Flora peeking, and they both smiled a little, nervous smile.
Flora remembered her bravery. She took a deep breath, like her dragons before they blew fire, and stepped out. "Hi," she said, holding up Sparkle. "This is Sparkle!" Leo's eyes widened, and he held up his own green dragon. "Hi, I'm Leo! This is my dragon, Emerald!"
Suddenly, all the shyness flew away like a puff of smoke. Flora showed Leo her drawings of sparkly dragons, and Leo giggled, showing his own funny drawing of a dragon wearing a hat. They talked about their dragons' names, their favorite colors, and even what their dragons liked to eat (sparkle-berries, of course!).
Before they knew it, Flora and Leo were building a giant dragon castle with blocks, laughing and chattering like old friends. They drew more dragons, side by side, their crayons a rainbow of colors on the paper. Flora felt warm and happy inside, knowing that being brave enough to say hello had led to such a wonderful new friendship.
